Bazaar TourBazaar Tour

This Medina day tour is a perfect combination of the Tunis old city sightseeing tour, shopping in famous Tunisian bazaars and attending an exposition of Berber carpets.

Departure to the Medina-the old Arabic city- for a walk through its beautiful, narrow and lively streets. tortuous alleys and its souks, which draw apparently an inextricable maze. The noble professions form the first belt (perfumers, booksellers, jewellers, tailors, manufacturers of chechias, sort of cap) around the big mosque. Whereas the more noisy activities are relegated to the suburb.

This day tour features:

- Big Mosque Djamaa Ez Zitouna, Mosque Hammouda Pacha, the Rachidia, the Medersas(coranic schools), the castle (a palace residence of one of the Arab princes) are among the monuments we will see in the tour.

- Tour of the bazaars for shopping, attending an exposition of native Berber carpets.

- Lunch time at a restaurant in Medina area: local Mediterranean food a la carte (optional).

End of my service and return to the hotel.

Massandra Palace of Alexander??? (Stalin`s dacha)

In 1878 prince Semyon Vorontsov decided to erect a palace in Massandra. The construction worcs, when only interior finishing was left to be done, had to be stopped becouse of the customer`s death.

In 1889 the Massandra Palace and estate was purchased by the Ministry for the Emperor Court and Apanages. Alas, sovereign Alexander ??? did not happen to live in this spot which was so much to his liking - in the 1894 the Russian Tsar died just a bit away from Massandra, in the Livadia Palace.

Massandra Palace has witnessed the govenor-general Michael Vorontsov,

tsar-peacemaker Alexander ???, tsar-martyr Nicolas ??, blood-thirsty Josef Stalin, executioner Lavrentiy Beria, the most eccentric Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchov, Leonid Brezhnev, the father of Perestroika Michael Gorbatchov.

For manyyears the Massandra Palace had been thor-oughly guarded and not only foreigners, but most of Crimeans knew nothing about it. It was opened in 1992.
